Myles Halley, Chairman
Myles has been involved with business restructuring since the early 1980s when he led the formation of KPMG’s restructuring department in Australia. After a career spanning over 30 years, Myles is widely regarded as an expert in this element of business turnaround and credited with being the driving force behind the success of KPMG’s restructuring operations. Halley remained with KMPG to develop its restructuring operations until 2010 at which time he was Head of UK Restructuring and running a 500 strong team generating annual revenues in excess of £85m. Previous deals he is acknowledged to have managed include Woolworths/Compair, Unwins, Independent Energy, Hibernia Foods, Erinaceous Group and Biz Energy.
Jamie Constable, CEO and Co-founder
Jamie is a co-founder of RCapital along with Peter Ward and is actively involved with investments at all stages. In his career Jamie has completed 20 successful turnarounds, which included saving the leading heritage brands Little Chef and Westlers.
As a specialist in corporate restructuring and turnaround, Jamie is uniquely skilled at identifying creative restructuring solutions to stabilise a distressed business. His expertise has earned him a place in Credit Today’s Top 50 influencers list and RCapital’s winning an Insolvency and Rescue Award for Best Rescue Funder.
A qualified accountant and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants, Jamie trained with Touche Ross and went on to found an award winning firm of Chartered Tax Advisors and Accountants, RJP. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the IFT and advisor to the Flight & Partners Recovery Fund launched by Lord Flight in 2008.

Peter Ward, COO and Co-founder
Peter co-founded RCapital together with Jamie Constable in 2004 as one of the first specialists to offer financing and restructuring solutions to companies in financial distress. Prior to this, Peter was in the Banking industry and held senior management positions within the UK Commercial and Corporate Banking division at NatWest / Royal Bank of Scotland group for 23 years. In 2001, Peter also co-founded his own corporate advisory business, Three V Corporate Venturing LLP to provide fund raising and interim management services as a complementary business to RCapital. At RCapital, Peter’s primary role is to oversee the running of the target companies post transaction. When required he will take a position on the board and work closely with management to ensure that the turnaround process is managed smoothly and effectively.
Matt Swan, Construction Advisor
Matt D. Swan is an expert in the construction and related consulting industries, having held senior management positions within the sector since the early 1980s. His career includes directorships with The Berkeley Group PLC, Crest Nicholson PLC and most recently, Managing Director of Project Services at Alfred McAlpine PLC, which at the time of his tenure, generated revenues in excess of £1billion. Matt is also a Partner at Lodge Park Ltd, a construction firm specialising in residential and commercial property development in the Home Counties and East Midlands areas. He has been working in partnership with RCapital since 2008 as a construction industry expert. Matt handles initial due diligence on potential investments for RCapital and then works closely with the incumbent management to restore business stability and future profitability. In this capacity Matt has been the Chairman at Plowman Craven Limited since March 2009. He is also actively involved with the management of DBK, Benchmark and Jaydee Brooks.
Graham Hopkins, Investor Manager
Graham joined RCapital in 2010 after a long career in banking with NatWest/Royal Bank of Scotland and latterly, with RBS Group’s Asset Based Lending division. During his career with the Group, Graham held senior relationship management roles with the banks where he specialised in debt funding and the structuring of transactions. He was also responsible for assessing debt recovery situations and has extensive experience of credit assessment within the mid-sized corporate sector, including advising a number of PLCs. As Investor Manager at RCapital, Graham is actively involved with various investments at Board level. He also manages projects requiring specialised banking expertise i.e. arranging finance, bank negotiations and deal assessment.
Craig Macdonald, Investor Relations
Craig has been working at RCapital since its launch in 2004. During his time with the company Craig has project managed many of its investment transactions and is also responsible for maintaining internal investment records, fund reporting and updating stakeholders on investee company performance. In addition Craig is involved in the setting up of share option schemes for portfolio company management teams and is responsible for project management of third party investments into investee companies. He also oversees the sale of a number of investee companies.
Yee Lam, Legal Counsel
Yee joined the team at RCapital in 2009 after working in private practice with Salans LLP as a corporate lawyer. During her employment with Salans LLP, Yee spent some time in their Shanghai office before returning to London and starting her career with RCapital. As General Counsel, Yee’s remit is varied and diverse, ranging from undertaking pre-investment due diligence investigations on all prospective investments being considered by RCapital, project managing external lawyers that are engaged by RCapital in relation to prospective investments to dealing with the various matters involving RCapital’s portfolio companies.
William de Laszlo, Investment Executive
William joined RCapital in 2009 and is part of the executive management team. A graduate of Sandhurst, with a first class MBA from Oxford University’s Said Business School, William is a key member of RCapital’s due diligence team. His responsibilities include evaluating new opportunities working with incumbent management and evaluating the ongoing performance of portfolio companies.

Sarah Staley, Compliance Officer
Sarah has been with RCapital since its launch in 2004 and oversees compliance in relation to the FSA rules and regulations for registered firms and where these regulations extend to investee companies, is the point of contact. In addition Sarah provides a support function for portfolio companies in relation to banking, accounting and tax. Working closely with the RCapital financial representatives, Sarah is involved in post-investment due diligence. Sarah is also responsible for company secretarial functions within RCapital.
